The Basics

About Us

What is The Veiled, you ask?

This is a safe space for gamers to watch videos, access gaming information, and voice suggestions. Our mission is to provide gamers with entertaining content. To that end, The Veiled works hard to maintain this site as a purposeful space for all. Our website address is: https://theveiled.net. (Bookmark it!)

Our Back Story

Where on Earth did The Veiled come from?

Well, The Veiled isn’t just some underground society. (The name could suggest this, but it’s really an homage to our stealthy allies, whom we very much admire.)

Behave Yourself

What’s kosher around here?

Two words: Be kind. You really must review our guidelines to ensure that you properly interact on our website. Please take a few minutes to read our Terms and Conditions.

The Nitty Gritty

Security of your information

We take steps to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Unfortunately, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot absolutely ensure or warrant the security of any information you provide to us. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we do not accept liability for unauthorized disclosure.

By using our site or providing personal information to us, you agree that we may communicate with you electronically regarding security, privacy, and administrative issues relating to your use of the site. If we learn of a security breach related to your personal information, we may attempt to notify you electronically by posting a notice on our site or by email.

Children’s information

Children under 16 years old may not comment on our site, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you learn that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately. If we learn that we have collected a child’s personal information in violation of applicable law, we will promptly take steps to delete such information.

Comments

When a visitor leaves a comment anywhere on the site (e.g. Saga) we collect the comment as well as the commentor’s
IPInternet Protocol
address and browser user agent string. This helps with spam detection. In addition, an anonymized string created from a commentor’s email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service or others to see if the commentor is using such services. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of a comment, the commentor’s profile picture is visible to others in the context of the comment (e.g. public visibility for public comments). Comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Media

If you share images on the website, you should avoid uploading or linking to images with embedded data (e.g.
EXIFExchangeable Image Format
with
GPSGlobal Positioning System
) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images.

Cookies

The Veiled uses cookies to provide a user-friendly experience. The chart below outlines how the site uses cookies and how long the cookies persist. Though we’ve broken them into categories here, they are all considered functional cookies. We believe that everyone has the right to limit the data being collected about them. If you wish to limit cookies, popular browsers have built-in tools that may be useful to you. To learn more about cookies and how to limit them in your browser of choice, visit this site: https://allaboutcookies.org

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as it would on the other website directly.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. If you complete a form, poll, or quiz, we retain the data for as long as needed.

What rights you have over your data

If you’ve left a comment or filled out a form on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include comments, but it will anonymize any comment by removing your name and email address from it. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Requests will be considered on an individual basis.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy at our sole discretion. If we make any material changes to our policies, we will notify you as required by applicable law. You understand and agree that you will be deemed to have accepted the updated Privacy Policy if you continue to use our site after the new Privacy Policy takes effect.

We all make mistakes

Data sharing is complex, worse than playing The Witcher on Nightmare mode while you’re hangry and caffeine deprived. If you notice that your data is being shared or collected in a way you did not anticipate, please reach out to us immediately.
