Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Multiplayer Trophy Guide (Part 1)

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag multiplayer trophy guide part 1 thumbnail

Multiplayer trophies in Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag can feel intimidating, especially now that player counts are lower and some online features are fading away. The good news? Most trophies are still achievable with planning, a few smart tricks, and sometimes a small group of friends.

This guide breaks down what you can earn solo, what requires multiplayer sessions, and how to save yourself hours of frustration.

Before You Start

Last Updated: April 2026

Servers are active as of April 2026. If Ubisoft discontinues online services in the future, availability of Wolfpack Private Mode and certain trophies may vary by platform. I discuss methods in the video that may still allow limited progress if servers go offline.

Trophies You Can Earn Solo

Several trophies can be earned without public multiplayer matches using Wolfpack Private Mode.

Recommended setup:

  • Wolfpack → Private Match → Unleashed Mode
  • Session Type: Wolfpack
  • Matchmaking: Private (4-player icon)
  • Mode: Unleashed
  • Map: Any
  • Difficulty: Any

Note: The 4-player icon indicates capacity, not a requirement. This mode can be played solo.

Solo-friendly trophies include:

Base Game Trophies:

  • Sharing Is Caring
  • Committed To The Cause
  • Personal Bag Of Tricks
  • Master Of The Caribbean
  • Much of All Rounder progress

Blackbeard’s Wrath DLC Trophies

  • Queen Anne’s Revenge
  • Preemptive Strike

Fast XP for Level 55 (Committed To The Cause)

Best method:

  • Play Wolfpack → Private Match → Unleashed Mode
  • Play at least once daily for XP bonuses
  • Focus on challenge completions for extra XP

Using this method, leveling becomes manageable instead of endless.

Multiplayer Trophies Requiring Other Players

These include:

  • Lab Technician
  • Certain All Rounder requirements
  • Sacred Land
  • Elevator to the Gallows

Public matchmaking can be inconsistent, so coordinating with others is highly recommended. If matchmaking is slow, see boosting resources below.

Finding Players to Boost With

If matchmaking is slow, use trophy and boosting communities to form groups:

PlayStation:

Xbox:

PC:

Four coordinated players make every multiplayer trophy much easier.

All Rounder Trophy Guide

Most ability and ranged weapon requirements can be completed solo in Wolfpack mode, but the Bodyguard ability and most multiplayer game modes require public sessions.

The All Rounder trophy can be completed mostly solo, but missing a single requirement can force you back into multiplayer.

All Rounder – Don’t Miss Anything Flow

Once you understand where each mode is located, follow this order to avoid missing requirements or repeating matches.

Step 1: Start With Solo Setup

  • Play Wolfpack (solo) using:
    • Unleashed → Session Type: Wolfpack
  • Focus on:
    • Abilities
    • Ranged weapons

Tip: Use Copycat to complete abilities you haven’t unlocked yet.

Note: Copycat requires access to Ability Sets (PSN sign-in required) and unlocks at Level 2.

Step 2: Track Progress In-Game

  • Open Challenges menu regularly
  • Check:
    • Ability usage
    • Ranged weapon usage

Do not rely on memory. The game tracks everything for you.

Step 3: Clean Up Remaining Abilities

  • If anything is missing:
    • Replay Wolfpack solo
    • Target only the unfinished items

This prevents unnecessary multiplayer grinding.

Step 4: Move to Multiplayer Modes

Most progress can be completed solo first, drastically reducing the number of multiplayer matches needed.

Switch to Public Sessions:

  • Matchmaking: Public (4-player icon)

Complete:

  • Manhunt
  • Artifact Assault
  • Domination
  • Wanted
  • Deathmatch
  • Assassinate

Step 5: Handle Game Lab Separately

  • Required for: Lab Technician
  • Not required for: All Rounder

Do this alongside boosting sessions if possible.

Step 6: Final Check Before You Stop

Before leaving multiplayer:

  • Verify all modes completed
  • Verify Bodyguard ability (multiplayer-only situations)
  • Double-check Challenges menu

All Rounder Quick Checklist

Use this checklist as a quick reference while playing to make sure nothing is missed.

☐ Use Copycat for missing abilities
☐ Track progress in Challenges menu

Multiplayer (Public Sessions Required)

Sharing Is Caring Workaround

A workaround method may allow completion without active servers, though results vary by platform.

Warning: This method may cause game instability. Back up your save data before attempting.

Steps:

  1. Reach Sequence 5 or 6 in the single player base game.
  2. Start single player base game while signed out of your PSN account.
  3. Sign in to your PSN account while in single player base game, not your Uplay account.
  4. Disconnect from the internet quickly. Easier if using an ethernet cable to manually disconnect instead of turning off Wi-Fi.
  5. Search for social events in single player base game while disconnected from the internet.
  6. Find social events without needing online sharing with friends.

Results vary, but this method worked on PS3 in testing.

Here’s a map you can use to find social events. Social events spawn randomly, so they may not appear exactly where the map indicates. If one location is empty, continue searching other marked areas.

Helpful Notes

  • Controller layouts differ slightly. I can only confirm the PlayStation consoles, but it might apply to other consoles.
  • The Blackbeard’s Wrath DLC content affects some trophy access.
  • Some trophies can be earned solo even if forums claim otherwise.
  • Copycat perk allows temporary access to abilities and ranged weapons you haven’t unlocked yet.

Final Tips

Multiplayer trophies look intimidating, but most become straightforward with planning and cooperative players. Even solo players can make serious progress using Wolfpack mode.

If servers ever go offline, guides like this will help squeeze out the last achievable trophies before they disappear.
